Wet Processing

Jet Products is capable of performing various wet process coatings in our modern certified NADCAP approved facility. Please see our "Process Approvals" page for detailed specification and certification information.

Anodize

Jet products can perform anodic treatment of aluminum and aluminum alloys per MIL-A-8625, type I, Type II, and Type III, both natural and dyed. Our new processing facility is staffed by qualified platers, part rackers and precision maskers. The bath size is 4 ft./Sq., and we are equipped to handle all the aluminum's including the 200/2000 series alloys and K01.

Chromic Anodize, Known As Type I

Chromic Anodize

This anodizing entails the immersion of aluminum parts is a Chromic bath. follow by sealing. This coating provides very good corrosion resistance with minimum build up. This treatment also enhances the adhesion for adhesive bonding and coatings

Sulfuric Color Anodize, Know As Type II

Sulfuric Color (1)

This anodizing entails the immersion of aluminum parts in an electrolyte where an electric current is passed through the part. The surface is converted to aluminum oxide. Proper formation of aluminum oxide provides very good resistance to corrosion and abrasion. In addition it serves as a base for color absorption when dyes are used or improve adhesion for sprayed coatings

Hard Anodize Known As Type III

Jet Products hard-coat anodizing entails the immersion of aluminum parts in an electrolyte bath charged with proprietary additive. Jet products Hardcoat process produces superior hardness and denseness when a part is hard-coated, it increases the micro finish 2-5 times, depending on the alloy. This hard-coat anodizing exceeds wear characteristics of other hard coatings such as electroless nickel, and hardchrome. The used of our hard-coat for salvage operations has proven very successful. Parts rejected because of bores that have been machined oversized are being hard-coated and honed to become acceptable parts.

Chemical Conversion Treatments

Chem film

Jet Products is ready to handle all your Chem conversion needs. Most common MIL-C-5541, Class 1A and Class 3. Parts are first carefully degreased/cleaned, follow by light etch cleaning, customer requirements, etched using the appropriate etchant for the particular alloy. Parts are next de-oxidized, followed by the required chemical conversion coating, then thoroughly rinsed. A hot deionized water seal completes the process, and the parts are dried, inspected and ready to be returned to the customer.
